I realize that I haven’t written in three weeks. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that I used my birthday as an excuse, but the real reason you haven’t heard from me is because I was waiting on God. I was waiting on Him for personal breakthrough, as well as a way to apply what He’s teaching me to something I can share with you.
At some point in your Christian walk you’re probably going to be confronted with waiting too. I'd like to address two crucial facets to waiting on God.
First is waiting to hear His voice.
Second is waiting for Him to come through.
Both are things I’ve struggled with. So whether you’re waiting to hear His voice; or waiting for an outcome; this is for you.
Pretty much my entire Christian walk, God has been teaching me to trust Him more. Today I am convinced this is something every Christian continually grows in. Whether you’re in a season of waiting or doing; God is most likely stretching your faith. Even in seasons of resting and reflecting God gives you reasons to trust Him and prepares you for what’s to come.
These 5 things you need to know about faith are what God has revealed to me in the last few weeks. I can’t share them with you without admitting that I’ve been extremely humbled while learning them. The only reason I can step out in faith is because of Holy Spirit working in me. These last few weeks have been exactly that.
This is what I’ve learnt:
So you know that little verse in Genesis where God says it is “not good” for Adam to be alone? I happen to think He says the same thing about us today. Surprisingly, this article is not about marriage. It’s also not about why God decided to create women. I’m just putting it out there in case you’d like to stop reading now.
This article is about surrounding yourself with a Godly community. God designed us to function within family and church. He never meant for us to be alone.
Over the last few years God has showed me the value of surrounding myself with Godly people who encourage, uplift and support me. In the last week or so I’ve been reminded of the importance of having such a community. Here are three valuable things I’ve learnt:
These last few weeks have been all about love. You know when God's trying to tell you something and you run into it everywhere you go? Well that is pretty much what these last weeks were like for me.
This weekend I attended the first Women of Worth Conference in Bloemfontein. When one of the speakers, Dr Ntabeleng Rammile, referred to the commandment to love in Matthew 22:36-40, it didn’t even surprise me. This verse showed up in so many conversations I had over the last week.
When one of the Pharisees asked Jesus what the most important commandment was, He instructed us to love. According to Jesus love is most important thing in life. Love God. Love yourself and love others.
Four years ago God sent me to live in England for a year. I still remember standing in the airport after passing through customs. 19 Year old and teary eyed, I said goodbye to my family for a whole year (Ended up visiting them somewhere in the middle though). There I was, heading to a country where I didn’t know anyone and they didn’t speak my home language.
Everything before me was completely unknown, but somewhere in the midst of the unknown I felt inferior. This was what it felt like to step onto the water – so unsure if I would be able to walk, but oh so willing to try.
