Queen in Gold
Most people dream about living a life that’s extraordinary. Most people dream that their life will be one of impact and not one that goes by unnoticed. And then sadly, most of us have days we feel like a total failure, because we just don’t seem to manage having this type of life. ![]()
Just last week I had a day like that. I just didn’t seem to reach the goals I set out for myself. This was the voice of the enemy, for I am not a failure and neither are you, beautiful God-creation reading this post! This just inspired me to revisit success; its Godly definition and what it takes to get there.
So how does one apply this Godly view of success in everyday life? Here are a few things you should know:
3 Ways to be successful:
1. Choose to have joy (Life doesn’t owe it to you!) My mom often says “life doesn’t owe you anything”. No one reaches success by waiting for it to come to them. If you have hopes and dreams; get up and make something of it. Your joy, however, should not be based on whether or not your dreams succeed. Joy is a choice you can make in the here and now. Don’t live for one day, but choose to be happy in your current reality.
I’m reminded of this verse in James 1:2 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds...”
Another key to having joy; is identifying things that tend to steal your joy. This could be anything from an over packed schedule, to a hurtful relationship. Once you know what steals your joy; it enables you to deal with it in a healthy way.
I’m of meaning that God designed us to take risks. Even to have faith is a risk. We’ve been given a life in abundance (John 10:10), but in order to fully live, we are compelled to step out in faith. Decide to rise above the fears that are holding you back and decide to have faith that God is sovereign in every circumstance.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6 Go and live a life of significance. Go live a life addressing God’s truth in every situation. Be who He intended you to be. Choose to be content. Take a step of faith and rest in the assurance of God’s control. You might also like:
