Queen in Gold

Why God chose you

The aim of Queen in Gold is to help (young) women to embrace their God-given title as the royal Bride of Christ.  I happen to wake up many days not feeling much like the royal Bride. Here is a little bit of my journey and the lessons I’ve learnt – maybe you can relate.

Why me?

Since God placed this blog on my heart there have been many doubts of whether or not I am truly the Queen it represents.

The enemy bore witness to my sin and accused me of being unholy; unworthy and two-faced. I’ve certainly looked to God asking why: Why did He choose me to be in this relationship with Him?

Even more; why does He want to use our relationship if we both know it’s not all that perfect? We both know how often I stumble and how often I choose to follow my own thoughts and ideas– so why would He choose me?

This reminded me of Moses questioning whether he was really the best guy for the calling God had for his life (Ex 3:11). Moses was a murdered (Ex 2:11-15) and a stutterer (Ex 4:10).

Surely, God could’ve selected someone more suitable and able, but because of Moses’ shortcomings God received the ultimate glory.

"He’s been making plans for quite some time now and He’s never failed. "
So whatever it is God’s calling you to do – there is a reason He chose you to do it. God’s been making plans for quite some time now and He’s never failed.

You don’t feel worthy – you ARE!!

You can’t deserve your worth – it was a free gift from the start.
I’m so often stirred with uneasiness due to the concept of grace. Growing in intimacy with Jesus produces a desire to be like Him. Along with this desire we should develop an awareness that we can’t be like Jesus without His sacrifice and His Spirit.  It’s because of Him that you are worthy and not because of you. You are completely and utterly dependent on Him.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God" - Ephesians 2:8

There are going to be days when you act in your flesh; days you prove to be unworthy of His royal inheritance – but because of His blood and His Spirit you never lose your title. Strive to live according to the title you’ve been given. Don’t give up because of failures. Look towards the One who gave you the title in the first place.

You represent the Kingdom

Beautiful Bride of Christ – this is really important:

God’s calling on your life is never for you, but always for His Kingdom (Matt 6:33). Let your life be an example of what a Godly life should be. As it goes with titles; you are no longer simply a representative of yourself. You represent the King and His Kingdom.

This reminds me of the story of Esther. God chose her to be queen, not so she could have a glamorous life, but in order to save His people.
"God’s calling on your life is never for you, but always for His Kingdom. "
“Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?"   – Esther 4:14
