In this interview, Mienke opens up about finding Christ and how He's changed her life within the beauty industry.

​​My family has one of those kettles that make a really loud shrieking noise when the water is boiled. Sometimes when I’m in  a hurry I have to press the “off” button a number of times before I actually press it. The trick is to remain calm, even if there's a loud noise screeching in your ears.

So while trying to switch off the kettle earlier today, I thought of how someone would say “Please remain calm...” in emergency situations. Ironically, most people don’t.  

Today we're talking about stress – what causes it, why it’s bad for you and how to deal with it in a healthy, biblical way. How do you remain calm even if there's a kettle screaming in your ears?

​These past few weeks I’ve been confronted with the idea of hopelessness. I also came across so many Christians struggling to see God’s light in times of darkness. Failures, lies and an overall negative society; ruin our dreams, drag us down and leave us feeling hopeless and far from God. 

​Amidst the battle fought for a glimpse of hope, I heard this uplifting testimony of a friend. Liezl reflects on her struggle with hopelessness and the simple way God came to restore her hope.

If you are struggling with hopelessness today, you are not alone. If you have a longing for God’s presence, but somehow can’t seem to reach Him; if you feel frustrated and confused, this is for you.

​Most people dream about living a life that’s extraordinary. Most people dream that their life will be one of impact and not one that goes by unnoticed. And honestly, most of us have days we feel like a total failure, because we just don’t seem to manage living this type of life. 

​Just last week I had a day like that. I just didn’t seem to reach the goals I set out for myself. This was the voice of the enemy, for I am not a failure and neither are you, beautiful God-creation reading this post! This just inspired me to revisit success; its Godly definition and what it takes to get there.
