4 Keys to being present

1/17/2018

Being present is more than signing your name on an attendance register. A saying goes “the lights are on, but nobody’s home.” This refers to when someone is too tired to realize where they are or what they’re doing; although they are awake and physically attending. You might show up for life, but it takes more than showing up to be truly present.  It takes more than going through the motions to truly live.

I personally define being present as being aware of God and what He wants to do. God is never passive; He’s always active in healing brokenness (Psalm 30:2), setting captives free (John 8:36) and giving life in abundance (John 10:10). God is working for good, establishing His purpose, right at this moment (Romans 8:28). If this is the true, why do our lives often feel so mundane? Why aren’t we witnessing miracles daily?

Why you should believe in fairy-tales...

1/4/2018

At the very core of every girl’s heart is the desire to be fought for and pursued.

This is the reason little girls dream about being princesses. Apart from being able to twirl around in a beautiful dress; princesses are beautiful, worthy and adored. It's acknowledged by a prince who is willing to fight a fire-breathing dragon, in order to rescue her on his white horse.

And how could any fairytale be complete without the lovely young couple living happily ever after?

Many women have given up on this dream along the way.

Some have met a decent man and hoped he’d make a good prince, only to watch him run at the first sign of the dragon. Some of us have attempted to slay the dragon ourselves, in order to make the quest for our hearts a little bit more presentable. Some of us have settled for less than the prince we hoped for.

Christian dating 101

1/2/2018

I’ve been passionate about romance since I can remember. Honestly, I was sure that my first crush was the “boy” I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

Naturally, this perspective caused me to get my heart broken a number of times. God miraculously used it to introduce me to the concept of Jesus being my first Love.

So that’s great – but it does not solve the dilemma of finding a second love or how to navigate your way through such relations in a God-honoring way.

So I set off on a quest to read every book, watch every video and apply every idea to “Christian dating”

Dating, courtship, friendship – call it what you like. I have come to the conclusion that
there is absolutely no “one-size-fits-all” recipe on how to find your second love and have a Godly relationship.

3 Unhealthy habits you should replace

12/27/2017

These are three unhealthy (even sinful) habits I’ve identified in my own life. I can’t write this today without admitting that I’m still in the process of replacing them with healthy habits. If you choose to join me in this process, let’s start off by not being too hard on ourselves. Be reminded of God’s grace. Let Him be your motivation for a more balanced, healthy and God-focused life.
